Seeking to create a a more comfortable and inviting experience for its customers, the owners of the Aikahi Park Shopping Center on Oahu chose to install a series of brightly coloured Leva Architectural Umbrellas in the forecourt of the new shopping centre development.
The Brief
MakMax’s local installer and authorised agent in Hawaii, Tropical J’s was approached by the center management of Aikahi Park Shopping Center to install a series of ourdoor umbrellas in the new dining forecourt redevelopment. The proposed the MakMax LS32 Leva model architectural umbrella in bright yellow.
The Materials
MakMax Australia Leva (cantilever) umbrellas were chosen to be a practical and aesthetic addition to a shopping centres outdoor dining area, providing shade, protection, and ambiance to the strip mall.
Cantilever umbrellas are designed to provide shade over a large area without the need for a centre pole, which makes them ideal for outdoor dining areas. By providing shade, the umbrellas can make the dining area more comfortable for customers, especially during Hawaii’s hot and sunny weather.
Located on the windward side of Oahu, the wind-rated Leva model of umbrella is perfect for this kind of location.
The ability to customise both the colour of the steel frame (Dulux Anotect Mod-Bronze Matte) as well as the canopy (Mehler FR580 Brigth Yellow), meant that the umbrellas matched the colour scheme of the redevelopment plans.
